Upon reaching your first stop, Bano Grande, your guide will lead you on a 20-minute walking trail through lush woodlands. Here you will have the opportunity to view the nest of the endangered Puerto Rican parrot, and flora and fauna of the Palo Colorado forest including elephant ears, a diversity of ferns, and splendid Mahogany trees. Marvel at giant hardwoods, bamboo groves, miniature orchids, colossal tree snails, and tropical ferns that grow over 40 feet tall! Then reboard your motorcoach for the return drive, stopping at Yohaku observation tower and La Coca Falls along the way.
Note: Due to the new laws in the Caribbean National Forest , bus drivers cannot leave their buses while they are in the forest. Guests will walk by themselves through Baño Grande and Caimitillo Interpretative trail on their own. There are signs all over the trail. Close-toed, non-slip shoes are recommended as the trail is typically wet and can be slippery.
